I’ve heard the saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound if cure – what I just experienced could not better demonstrate this idea.
I just met with some beautiful girls who have moved to Phnom Penh from various countryside villages. Often times, this is how many girls wind up in the trafficking industry by coming to the capitol hoping to find a better living than in their village. The difference for these girls is that they’ve come from their villages & have come to a Christian dorm, which is a safe place for them to grow in their education & to also look for a job that will suit their talents. This dorm is not only a safe haven for them, but it is also a prevention from a potentially destructive trap. These girls talked about their dreams, goals & the plans they have for their future. Each of them is full of hope, optimistic & even eager for their future. We talked about Gods genuine love for them along w the many ways that God demonstrates His love to us. It was a very rich experience for me, providing living proof to the ounce of prevention versus a pound of cure axiom.
