more and more

More and not less!!!!  As humans, we have this thinking that more is better than less.  We want more time, more money, more success, more achievements, more recognition, more help, more, more, more, more, . . . . . . .  I’m not sure that we ever have a really clear sense of “enough” and perhaps this is by divine design.  Perhaps we can never get enough because we are divinely designed for Infinte and thereby never genuinely satisfied with that which is finite and limited.  Think about your desires and how they may be shaped by God for God.  Perhaps your desire for more is only met in an authentic, ongoing and deep intimacy with your Creator, the Triune God 🙂

An encouraging challenge

Sometimes I can get discouraged when I look at problems that seem to have no answers & sometimes I can get overwhelmed by some challenges that seem insurmountable. Ever feel the same? During my prayer time this morning, I was reminded about how God had a sheep waiting for Abraham when he was about to sacrifice Isaac. This story reminds me that God has solutions, provisions & wisdom waiting for me when various needs can become urgent. In the meantime, rather than fretting, getting stressed out & uptight about various problems, I can change my thinking to being grateful & appreciative that God has already provided answers & resources. When I’m thankful, I’m a better traveling companion with God during the journey of life rather than being stressed out 🙂

Solving Problems

We all have problems of different sizes, challenges, seasons & shapes. It seems to me that sometimes problems come in herds – either they’re few & far between or they seem to spill out from every corner & area of life.
Some problems we can solve on our own & some problems require help because they’re beyond our ability & resources. It seems to me that when I get in these problem intense seasons that I can get myopic & only see 1 solution or answer. The problem with myopia is that there’s limited focus & for me it’s usually on the wrong thing (the problem & not God).
So here’s the short answer: God has solutions, ideas, resources & methods for resolution of which we’ve never dreamed. I’m reminded that God has more answers than I had questions & God has more solutions than I have problems 🙂
